Some other bball ideas – and there’s still a little time to order:

Decathlon – great value products across all sports and you can arrange delivery or collection from your nearest ASDA store.  These balls are great value but see also baskets, kits and even basketball shoes and sports socks.  Also check out knee pads.

The NBA Store – All things NBA.  for kits, player replica kits, balls, boots even mugs, glasses, bags and model figures.  If it’s NBA it’s HERE in the NBA Store.

Adidas – great quality and some deals to be had.  Check out Harden B/E Shoes. The only shoe made for the court, the school and street.

Sports Direct – always lots on offer at Sports Direct – some reasonable offers on shoes at the moment.

Under Armour – For the latest in Curry footwear see here for the Curry 4.  It’s a sharp look but a price to match!

Wilson 3v3 – There’s a whole new world of basketball to explore following the landmark decision to include 3v3 in the Olympics.  Wilson are the manufacturer of the Fiba approved ball.  All brands have ranges of balls that are suitable for indoor / outdoor / both indoor and outdoor use.  The basic difference is the tech that makes up the ball – indoor balls will have a soft touch grip, but that grip is susceptible to getting destroyed on outdoor courts.  Outdoor balls will mainly be rubber, may not have the true bounce / weight balance but will generally last longer.

The Wilson Wave range includes the 3v3 approved match ball – that is going to cost between £20 and £30.00.  For Most players though a ball that can be used outside will offer better value for money.  Take a look at the Wilson 3v3 Replica rubber ball. Available other places such as Newitts too. This ball is a size 6 but weighs in the same as a size 7.  It’s got great grip, looks good and could be the ideal practice ball for many of our young Herefordshire basketballers looking to challenge themselves in their home court practice. I took it on summer tour for pick-up-games on hot, hard tarmac and concrete courts.  It’s still alive now!

Match Balls – The Spalding 500 or 1000 are the indoor match balls of choice for Basketball England.  These will get dstroyed quickly outside of course.

Note: All u12 basketball in England should be played with a size 5, u14 move to a size 6 and then boys/men move to a size 7 while girls /women stick with a size 6.  All Fiba approved 3v3 is played with the Wilson size 6.
